Metabeam Launches New Web Services to Assist the Production of Digital Media Menus and Simplify the Process of Adding Web Links to DVD and CD Products

Manhattan Beach, CA - Feb 2, 2007 - Revealed today at the exclusive Media Experience ’07 event, entertainment technology provider Metabeam™ Corporation (www.metabeam.com) demonstrated new functionality of its recently released Metamenu system. Codenamed “Dovetail” and “SimpleROM” the new Web services are the first added features released by Metabeam to further enable designers and studio producers to deliver customers simple, easy-to-use menu technology. “Based on feedback from industry designers and consumers in usability studies, we saw an opportunity to deliver new services that would enhance the Metamenu system,” says Chris Brown, president and CEO of Metabeam. “Users want simple technology and designers want to develop rich interfaces. Using Metamenu technology, both win.”

Metamenu SimpleROM Web service (www.simpleROM.com) enables designers to effortlessly create Web links for DVD and CD products, allowing users to view the video in their DVD player and Website in their browser – without forcing users to install or learn a new technology. Metamenu Dovetail Web service (dovetail.metamenus.com) enables designers to build menus for HDi or BD-J using a simple usability-standardized template. Removing the need for complex hand coding, Metamenu Dovetail puts the focus back on creative design, cool features and satisfied end users.

Metamenu, a patent-pending production method and digital media interface specifically designed to maximize user control, was launched in June of 2006 and is featured today on the Blu-Ray release of titles including Academy Award® winner “Crash,” “Lord of War,” “The Punisher,” “Saw,” and “Terminator 2: Judgment Day.” The Metamenu system is also available for HD DVD, Standard DVD, and other networked computing and mobile platforms.
