Metabeam Previews Metamenu Remote at Digital Hollywood

New software turns Apple iPhone or iPod Touch into remote control for Blu-ray Discs, enhanced with core-to-content bonus material, search, browse and more.

Hollywood, CA – May 7, 2008 – At this week's Digital Hollywood expo, Metabeam (www.metabeam.com) unveiled Metamenu Remote for Apple iPhone and Blu-ray Disc. The new software combines the elegance of the mobile device with the advanced interactive and networked features available on Blu-ray Disc.

Metabeam CEO Chris Brown offered sneak peeks of Metamenu Remote at the DVDA Day of Excellence at Digital Hollywood, in the Solano Room at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel. (Full schedule of DVDA Day of Excellence.)

Metamenu Remote is the first commercial application being offered on the NetBlender BD-Touch platform, which uses the BD Live network connection built into Blu-ray players and the WiFi connection on the iPhone to connect the devices. Metamenu Remote is available to Blu-ray Disc producers now, and titles enhanced with the software are expected to start showing up on shelves later this year. The company has begun scheduling private demonstrations of the new technology. Professional content producers who wish to schedule a demonstration are instructed to complete the contact form at the company's Web site: http://metabeam.com/contact.htm.
